Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
Begin Solids LLC ("Begin Solids," "we," "us," or "our") makes the Begin Solids app, which helps families feed their baby solid food, and runs beginsolids.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run Begin Solids, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, the app, our free guides and our emails (together, the "Service"). Questions go to support@beginsolids.com.
1. What we collect
When you sign up for a free guide: your first name, your email address, and the date your new-subscriber offer ends.
When you buy Begin Solids: the email address you use at checkout, the amount paid, the date, and whether a payment was refunded or disputed. Your card or bank details go to our payment processor, Stripe, and never reach us. We also record where the sale came from, such as the ad or email link you arrived through and which of our pages you bought on (see "Cookies and similar technologies").
Your account: your email address, the first name you give us, and your password, which our sign-in provider stores only in scrambled (hashed) form.
Your family: your family's name in the app, the people you invite, and the role each person has.
Your children: each child's name and birth date, and the answers you give during setup, such as how they eat now, textures they manage, diet preferences, and any allergens you're avoiding or have introduced.
What you record: your daily feeding log, reactions and their notes, meal plans, favorites, meals you create, grocery list ticks, program progress, readiness answers, and lessons you finish.
If you take a readiness quiz: your email address and which result your answers point to. In some versions we also keep your first name if you give it, and your answers about what feels hardest, what would help, where you are with solids, and who else helps feed your baby. We use your answers about your baby's development and health to work out the result and don't keep them.
Your agreements: when you accepted our medical disclaimer and these policies, and which version.
Technical information: the basic details any website receives, such as your browser type, device type, IP address, and the pages you visit, and the cookies described below.
2. Information about children
Begin Solids is for parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children, children don't use it, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The information about children in Begin Solids is what their parents and caregivers choose to record, and we use it only to provide the Service to that family. If you believe a child has given us personal information directly, contact us and we'll delete it.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: running the app for you and the people you invite, with the same plan, log and progress on every device.
- To confirm your purchase and give your family access.
- To send the emails the Service needs, such as your guide, receipts, your account setup link, invitations and password resets.
- To send marketing emails, if you signed up for a free guide or took a quiz: tips for your baby's stage and offers from Begin Solids. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which ads and emails bring people to Begin Solids, and to measure our advertising (see "Advertising measurement and analytics").
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to enforce our Terms.
We don't sell your personal information for money. We don't use information about your children for advertising, and we don't run analytics that record anything about your children.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies keep you signed in, connect your checkout to your account setup, and remember your new-subscriber offer's deadline so it's the same on every page.
- Source cookies remember the tags in the link you arrived through (for example, which ad or email) and the first page you visited, so we can tell which ads and emails lead to purchases. We save these tags with your purchase.
- Payment security. Our checkout form is provided by Stripe, which uses cookies and similar technologies to process your payment and to prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy.
- Advertising pixels. Our sales pages use pixels from Meta, TikTok and Whop, described below.
- Analytics cookies. Our sales pages use Google Analytics, described below, which sets cookies to count visits and tell a returning visitor from a new one.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Service, such as checkout and staying signed in, won't work without essential cookies.
5. Advertising measurement and analytics
We advertise Begin Solids on Facebook and Instagram through Meta. To measure how our ads perform, our sales pages use a pixel provided by Meta, which sends Meta information about your visit, such as the pages you view, when you open checkout, and a browser identifier. When you sign up for a free guide or buy Begin Solids, we also tell Meta, from the page and from our server, with your email address in a scrambled (hashed) form and, for a purchase, the amount paid, so Meta can tell that someone who saw an ad signed up or bought. Meta may use this information to measure and improve ad delivery under its own privacy policy.
We also advertise Begin Solids on TikTok. To measure how our ads perform, our sales pages use a pixel provided by TikTok, which sends TikTok information about your visit, such as the pages you view, when you open checkout, a browser identifier, and the click identifier in the link if you arrived from a TikTok ad. When you sign up for a free guide or buy Begin Solids, we also tell TikTok, from the page and from our server, with that browser identifier, click identifier, your IP address and browser type and, for a purchase, the amount paid, so TikTok can tell that someone who saw an ad signed up or bought. We don't send TikTok your name, email address or phone number. TikTok may use this information to measure and improve ad delivery under its own privacy policy.
We also advertise Begin Solids through Whop's advertising tools. Our sales pages use a pixel provided by Whop, which sends Whop information about your visit, such as the pages you view and a browser identifier. When you sign up for a free guide, it also sends your email address and first name, so Whop can tell that someone who saw an ad signed up. When you buy Begin Solids, it sends your email address and the amount paid, so Whop can tell that someone who saw an ad bought. Whop may use this information to measure and improve ad delivery, including with advertising partners, under its own privacy policy.
Under some state laws, this may be considered "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in "Your privacy rights." These pixels run only on our sales pages, never inside the app, and never receive anything about your children.
We also use Google Analytics on our sales pages to understand how visitors find and use them: how many people visit, which pages they view, where they came from, what kind of device they use, and whether they open the guide sign-up form, open checkout or complete a purchase. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address, which it uses to estimate a general location and doesn't store. We don't send Google your name or email address, we've turned off Google signals and ad personalization for this data, and we use it only to improve our pages. It runs only on our sales pages, never inside the app, and never receives anything about your children.
6. Who we share information with
- The people in your family on Begin Solids. The owner decides who to invite, what each person can do, and which children they can see.
- Companies that run parts of the Service for us, only as far as they need to:
- Supabase (database and sign-in)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Stripe (checkout and payments)
- Meta, TikTok and Whop (advertising measurement)
- Google (website analytics)
- Resend (email delivery)
- Google (our own business email)
- Legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, Begin Solids, or others.
- Business transfers: if Begin Solids is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer to the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy.
7. How long we keep information
- Account, family and child information: while your account is open. Deleting your account or a child removes that data from the app straight away, and from our backups when they cycle.
- Families without access: if access ends because of a refund or dispute, we keep the family's information in place so it's there if access returns, until the owner deletes it or asks us to.
- Purchase records: as long as accounting and tax rules require, with the link to your family removed after you delete it.
- Email subscribers: your email address, first name and offer information until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, so we can make sure we don't email you again.
- Quiz answers: until you ask us to delete them.
8. Keeping information safe
Access rules in our database let each person reach only the families and children they belong to, and data travels encrypted. We limit who can access personal information and require our service providers to protect it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Your choices
- Export your data: Account, then Export my data, downloads everything your account can see.
- Correct it: edit a child's profile or anything you logged, in the app.
- Delete a child: a family's owner can delete a child, which removes everything recorded for that child.
- Delete your account: Account, then Delete account. An owner hands each family to someone with Full access, or deletes it with all of its data. What you logged in a family you've left keeps your first name, so the family's record stays complete.
- Leave a family: anyone apart from the owner can leave from the Family screen.
- Stop marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any of them.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you and get a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or its use for targeted advertising; and
- not be treated differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, email support@beginsolids.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We'll confirm your identity, usually by checking the email address on your account, and respond within the time the law requires. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and if you're not satisfied, you may contact your state's attorney general.
11. Where information is stored
Begin Solids is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. The Service is intended for people in the United States.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
